The data were ana lysed by SPSS software with chi-square test.   Results: The results showed that the subjects mentioned professors' view toward this major (74%), families' view (73.5%) and their own scientific infonnation level (71.2%) are the most important factors in increasing their motivation and factors like observing the current interaction between nurses and physicians (65%) and some affairs turned over on the subjects in the clinical work environment (like change of bed sheets and...) (69.1 %) can decrease the motivation. The comparison between motivations of students in different semesters showed students in the second semester had the highest motivation level and the motivation of students who lived in the dormitories was lower than who didn't live there.   Conclusion: Regarding to the fmdings, we can improve the motivation of students by: amending the society's view toward the nursing major, improving the students' scientific level and improving the interaction between nurses and other medical groups.
