Background and AimNowadays nurses for their coordinating role perform four dutiesphysical care, emotional support, patient education and relationship between patient, physician and patient with personnel. According to basic role of nurses this study conducted to determine problems and social damages due to nursing protection and attitude of them about professional environment in Birjand hospitals. Materials and methodsThis descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in educational hospitals. Attitudes of 160 nurses. with a valid and reliable questionnaire were studied. Data of 120 completed questionnaires w'ith descriptive statistics was analyzed. ResultFinding showed that 64.3% of samples had negative attitude, 2.86% positive attitude and 28.8% had moderate attitude. The main problems of nurses were compact shifts, emotional and working exhaustion, and nurse-physician relationship. ConclusionsProfessional life quality determines personnel satisfaction and positive attitude toward professional environment. So planning for life quality improvement programs is a necessity.
