Background and AimProfessional security is very important matter and staffs have different physical, psychological, social-environmental and economical needs. Appropriate social placement and professional independence are priorities. Attention to professional hazards in nursing is necessary for staff health in order to giving service to patients. The purpose of present study is determining nurses' attitude toward professional security in physical, social and psychological dimensions.   Material and methodThis cross sectional descriptive study was performed on 93 nurses in Tehran educational hospitals by convenience sampling. Questionnaires consist of questions about social­ economical and professional security.   Result81.8 percent of study population were women, and most of them were between range of 30 – 37 years old 45.4% had more than 10 years record of service. 54% of them haven't professional security and only 4.5 percent feel security in their professional environment. 72.2% belived that their physical security was very low. Regarding psychosocial security 63.6% were dissatisfied.   ConclusionProfessional vulnerability associated with nursing is due to socio-cultural, economic and familial factors and needs anention and planning to decrease them.
