: Collection, and disposal waste in the scientific and economic methods are major problems of human health and environmental. Many industries are resources new pollutants and in some cases, cause release pollutants such as, carcinogenic and toxic materials in environment. Therefore, understanding current status is a fundamental step in applying the right way to collection, disposal and burying of industrial waste. The aim of this study is assessment of gathering, burial and disposal of industrial waste (including waste and sewage) in active factories in Birjand industrial town. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive -analytical study, 30 active companies in the industrial town of Birjand in 2008. has been reviewed for collecting ,disposal and burying methods of industrial waste (including waste and sewage). Data were analyzed by EXCEL and SPSS using descriptive tests. Results : Total wastes produced in industries, 14537 kg/month, and 4050 kg/month (27.86%) household garbage and 10487 kg/month (72.14%) industrial waste. Total hazardous wastes were 3524 kg/month. The main methods of waste disposal, including: incineration in factory area (50%), collected by the machines and disposal in landfill of municipal waste (26.66%), and disposal in yard or damping in there (23.33%). Conclusion : Considering the above results and to prevent environmental pollution , establishing a suitable management system for organization industrial waste in industrial town of Birjand is essential.
