Conflicts of Interest

A conflict of interest or competing interest exists when financial, professional, academic, personal, institutional, or other relationships or interests could reasonably be perceived as influencing the judgment, interpretation, review, editorial decision, or publication of scholarly work.
Modern Care Journal requires appropriate disclosure of competing interests from authors, reviewers, editors, editorial board members, journal staff, the publisher, and the journal owner. Financial interests, research funding, employment, consultancies, intellectual or academic competition, personal relationships, institutional interests, and relevant editorial or professional relationships should be disclosed when applicable.
Authors must provide a conflict-of-interest statement and disclose relevant funding sources, including the funding organization, grant information where applicable, and the role of the funder in the research. A conflict-of-interest statement, including an explicit statement that no conflicts were declared where appropriate, must appear in the published full-text article.
Reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived competing interest before accepting an assignment. Reviewers with a conflict that could compromise impartiality should decline the review.
Editors and editorial board members must disclose relevant competing interests and must not participate in the evaluation or decision-making process for manuscripts in which they have a conflict. Manuscripts submitted by the Editor-in-Chief, editors, or editorial board members will be assigned to an independent editor. The submitting editor will not participate in reviewer selection or editorial decision-making.
Conflicts identified after submission or publication will be assessed promptly. Depending on the circumstances, the journal may require disclosure, reassignment of editorial responsibility, additional independent review, correction of the published record, expression of concern, or other appropriate action.
The editorial process must remain independent of institutional, financial, commercial, or personal interests.
